Practical answers about booking through 4Drive Oman. We connect you with local suppliers — every reservation comes with a voucher that lists your specific terms.
Most travellers ask the same handful of questions before they book. This page covers the basics: what documents you need at the counter, how changes work, fuel rules, and why no credit card is required when you reserve through us.
Your voucher is a confirmation document issued within 24 hours of your booking advance payment. It lists the pick-up location, dates, vehicle type, and the supplier’s contact details. Show it — printed or on your phone — at the rental counter in Muscat or any other pick-up point.
Yes. The booking advance can be paid by debit card or bank transfer. At the supplier’s counter you will still need a valid driving licence and passport, but many partners accept cash or debit for any balance due. Check your voucher for the specific supplier’s policy.
It depends on the supplier. Some waive the deposit entirely; others hold a small amount on a debit card or accept cash. Your voucher states whether a deposit applies and the accepted methods. 4Drive Oman does not collect deposits — any hold is arranged directly with the local company.
You must present a full driving licence held for at least two years, a passport, and the voucher. If your licence uses non-Latin script an International Driving Permit is required. GCC residents should bring both their GCC licence and residency ID. Always carry originals; photocopies are not accepted.
Most suppliers set the minimum at 21 years with two years of licence history. Some vehicles — larger SUVs or commercial vans — require the driver to be 25 or older. Age restrictions appear on the booking form before you confirm.
Standard policy is full‑to‑full: you collect the vehicle with a full tank and return it full. OmanOil and Shell stations are common along Route 1 and Route 15. If you return the vehicle with less fuel the supplier will charge for the missing litres plus a refuelling fee, detailed in your voucher.
Changes and cancellations follow the supplier’s terms printed on your voucher. Many partners allow free amendments up to 48 hours before pick-up. Contact us by email at [email protected] or call +968 2447 1926 during business hours and we will coordinate with the supplier.
Most suppliers operate from Muscat International Airport on the Sultan Qaboos Highway or from offices in Al Khuwair and Ruwi. A few offer delivery to hotels in the capital governorate. The exact address and opening hours are on your voucher. Airport counters typically open from early morning until the last scheduled arrival.
Your voucher includes the supplier’s emergency number. Call them immediately if the vehicle breaks down or if you are involved in a collision. For any police report ask for a copy — you will need it when you return the vehicle. Roadside assistance terms vary by supplier and are listed in your rental agreement at pick-up.
Cross-border travel requires written permission from the supplier and may need extra insurance. Not all partners allow it. If you plan to visit Dubai or Abu Dhabi mention it when you book so we can match you with a supplier that permits cross-border trips and issue the correct documentation on your voucher.
